The core principle of my work is to
spark joy, starting with a lifelong exploration of the colors and images found in nature. I use various mediums and techniques to create art from years of curiosity, healing, and introspection. Combining botanical subjects and abstraction is the latest vision in a career that has spanned twenty-five years. The artwork tells part of the story, revealing how I have overcome challenges with hope and resilience. Recent work explores setting boundaries and how this can encourage people to work toward positive change and find a way back to themselves. I invite viewers to contemplate our shared humanity within the context of their journey and during self-discovery to find the joy, peace, and happiness they deserve. My mission is to encourage others to think about how to approach their challenges with renewed inspiration and insight. Making art is essential to my well-being, and the outcome provides a conduit for personal transformation for myself and the viewer.
The book about my family Hidden Valley Road has won numerous awards! Selected as Oprah’s book club pick in 2020 I was interviewed by Oprah.
